Fall is upon us, and with that comes the excitement of Halloween in Sarasota. The city of Sarasota in Florida is known for celebrating Halloween with great gusto, and there are many weekend events planned that involve fun activities for the entire family.

Here are some of the best and most fun Halloween events in Sarasota, making these the ideal places to head to for trick or treating.

1. Arlington Park Halloween Trail Carnival

The Arlington Park Halloween Trail Carnival is one of the biggest events of Halloween in Sarasota. People of all ages get to participate in games, trick or treating, and there is even a costume contest at the walking trail of the Arlington Park and Aquatic Complex. The Halloween Trail Carnival is organized by The City of Sarasota's Parks & Recreation District, and it is a free event aiming to attract more families to enjoy the festivities. The event goes on from 5-7 pm at the Arlington Park and Aquatic Complex in Sarasota.

2. Haunting on the Harbor

Another Halloween event that is super popular in southwest Florida is the Haunting on the Harbor. This is a 6000-square-foot haunted house that features a festival complete with a rocking Halloween party, live music, and costume contests. The event takes place throughout the month of October from 5 to 11 pm on Fridays and Saturdays. On October 31, the event is open from 7 to 10 pm. Well, if you are wondering if there really are any ghosts in Sarasota, you will have to embark on the 75-minute guided, creepy, and super dark Sarasota Ghost Walk. This popular event runs for the entire month of October, and you get to experience the spooky and sinister side of Sarasota on this unique walking tour, where you get to learn more about the town. When you embark on this ghost walk, you get to hear many chilling and haunting tales and feel the spookiness in the air. However, you need to reserve your spot on the tour as it is a very popular event. The event is not free, and neither is it recommended for small children. The ghost walk costs $18.95 for one person.

4. Spooktacular Ghost Tour

Another spectacular Halloween event organized in Sarasota is the Spooktacular Ghost Tour, which takes place from October 1 to 31st. This is a unique Haunted History Tour that also lasts for 75 minutes. This tour is packed with spooky ghost stories, and you get to learn a lot about the history of Sarasota. The tour is also great for learning many ghost-hunting tips and tricks to help you get ready for Halloween. A unique feature of this ghost tour is that you get to hear the live audio of a disembodied voice coming from a local Venice building. You even get the chance to catch your very own ghost by using real paranormal investigation tools and strategies. Costing $20 per person, you will leave the tour wanting to come back again to find your own ghost and local haunts.
